Payroll involves the calculation & distribution of employees’ wages & taxes & collating employee information & their hours. It also includes the record keeping of such payments.

How Do You Know If Its Applicable To You?

When you start employing staff you will need to register as an employer with HMRC. Employers will have to operate a PAYE scheme, so that HMRC can collect Income Tax & National Insurance from employment. So when payments are paid to employees, tax & National Insurance will more than likely need to be deducted from most. You may also need take into consideration if an employee will need to have student loan repayments or pension contributions deducted from their gross pay. You will need to report all payments & deductions to HMRC on or before each payday.
