Goundry’s Estate Agents

Goundry’s Estate Agents was set up by Andy Goundry in 2004, who had been an estate agent since 1986, in 2007 the lettings arm of the company was formed. With offices based in both Truro and St Agnes the company and team have grown since its inception.  With so many years of experience Andy, is well known in the property market and considered a fountain of knowledge.

Making decisions within a business knowing that financially they make sense is always a challenge, but Andy highlighted that “most of the financial decisions I make within the business I run by Alex to ensure that I am making the right choice, this has saved us money and allowed us to plan for the future of the business. What I cannot emphasise enough is how having an accountant who is pro-active in their approach, we trust that the advice we are given is to the latest legislation. This means we change and adapt how we work accordingly. The housing market especially rentals has seen new Government legislation applied constantly, our business has had to adapt to these changes and Howards Accountants are always able to adapt with us”.

Slice of Cornwall

Founded 10 years ago Slice was originally based in Wendron and now resides in the stunning back drop of the Helford. Slice of Cornwall gets its name from the slice”s of cake and quiche they served from their first menu; this has evolved and developed over time. It is owned, run and managed by Oliver and Sophie, a husband-and-wife team. (Along with some amazing chefs and front of house staff).

The company has grown and so has the menu, but the name and brand values have remained the same. With growth comes the complexity of the finances and this is how Slice of Cornwall Ltd and Howards Accountants started their relationship.

We have future plans that are very exciting, working with Howards Accountants has allowed us the freedom to do what we need to do in the business, and this is really important to us”

R H Build Solutions

Introduction

R H Build Solutions has over 30 years’ experience in the building industry. Having worked on a variety of sites for many years, the business started as Ross was not happy working on large scale sites. Ross preference was to focus on the high-end detailing and finishing rather than “house bashing” without care in the work.  

The finer detailing of R H Build Solutions work was very important. However, the accounting side would often be confusing, this was not Ross’ area of strength. Meeting with Alex for the first time, they talked through what was needed for the accounts and now except for invoicing clients Ross’ leaves the financials to Howards Accountants team who have the skills to complete the accounts.  

Ross can focus on his business, he was keen to tell us that “I don’t have to worry about my accounts myself; I can concentrate on my business and each year the team process and submit my financials. My business has grown organically and even this year with the purchase of a new larger van Howards were there to advise me and ensure I made the right decision.
